F.A.Q.

Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT COLOR CHOICES DO I HAVE?
Choice of BLACK or BLACK.

WHAT IF I'M NOT QUITE SURE OF MY SIZE?
It is best to go with the lower size if you are not sure where you fall in the size chart. The BRACESOX has a 120 percent stretch. If the sleeve is too big it will migrate and bunch up.

HOW DO YOU WEAR A BRACESOX FOR THE KNEE?
The BRACESOX for the knee is to be worn with the seam to the OUTSIDE of the leg so that the smooth seam is against the skin. Pull the sleeve on, stretching it all the way up the leg to the groin. Strap on your brace then fold the top of the BRACESOX over the top of the brace. There should be about 3-4 inches to fold over. This keeps the brace and sleeve in place and keeps the inside of your unbraced leg from getting chaffed. There should be about 1-2 inches left at the bottom. If you are wearing this with a post op brace there may only be an inch to fold over.

SUPPLEX OR COTTON?
The Cotton/Lycra sleeve is our hallmark sleeve and provides plenty of comfort and protection from the surface of the brace. Our Supplex/Lycra sleeve is our wicking material and helps to keep the skin dry by drawing the moisture to the surface, off the skin, to the top layer of material where it can evaporate better. Supplex/Lycra is suggested especially for humid climates or for those that wear their brace for more than 3 hours per day.

HOW LONG HAS THE BRACESOX BEEN AROUND?
The BRACESOX company was founded in 1990 by Anne Adams, an orthopedic brace patient. Anne has worn a brace for over 20 years. BRACESOX now supplies the majority of the top knee brace manufactures world wide. For even more detail, click here.

WILL MY INSURANCE COVER THIS?
The majority of insurance companies will cover the BRACESOX using the Lcode-2840. If you would like your insurance to cover the BRACESOX you will need your doctor to submit the order on your behalf, as we do not do insurance billing. For more information on insurance coverage, click here.

WASH AND WEAR INSTRUCTIONS.
Wash your BRACESOX in cold or warm water, tumble dry. No bleach.

SHOULD I BUY ONE OR TWO?
That depends on how much you like to do laundry. Remember, they are SOX. The easiest way to make sure you have a clean one is to get a pair. Those that wear their brace daily usually have a few on hand. (Remember, I wear a brace too. Although this could sound like a sales pitch, I know the value of having more than one on hand!)
